Learning to be more social ^^

Today after class some of my Korean classmates invited me out to dinner so we went to a restaurant near the university. I'm not entirely sure the region of the cuisine but in the front of the restaurant (outside) there were huge urns and now and then waiters would come out and use a long stick to pull dishes out of them!

The place was quite small and they seemed to have a lot of variety of roasted dishes. We shared dishes amongst us and all of them were spicy so I'm trying my very best to enjoy spicy food! For 5 people we paid about 30RMB each ^^

Since it was a clear day today (finally no rain!) I thought I'd cool off from the spicy food and went to buy an ice cream and some bread for tomorrow morning - I still can't believe it came to the equivalent of 50p!

Homework is intense on a Thursday as we have afternoon classes and with 3 exercises and 2 chapters worth of words for dictation it is quite a lot to take in. I'm thinking of staying here another semester and it has been playing up on my mind (along with a few other things) that I've been unable to sleep lately and wake up at 5am. I have no idea what is so magical about this hour but I seem to keep waking up at that exact time.....

Tomorrow I have my dreaded listening class and dictation in my reading class then I'm meeting my language swap partner for a bit to try and get used to conversational Chinese. Nobody can fault me for not trying or not being proactive in my stay here in Shanghai!
